Stéphane Pidgeon

Stéphane Pigeon was born in Brussels, Belgium, in 1970. He studied electrical engineering at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and graduated in 1994. He then specialized in multimodal biometric person authentication, earning his PhD in 1999. At the Royal Military Academy, which is the educational branch of the Belgian Defense, he continued his research. He explored a wide range of topics such as computer-assisted person identification, data fusion, channel coding, and audio processing. In addition, he took on the role of the Belgian Representative in several NATO task groups focusing on Information Systems Technology.   Stéphane's passion for sound also led him to the musical instrument market, consulting for the Roland Corporation Japan since 1994. In parallel, he created several audio-related websites, such as audiocheck.net and hearingtest.online. In 2015, he left his job at the Belgian Defence and Roland Corp. went through some changes. This is when another of his websites, myNoise.net, started to become more popular. Now, millions of people visit myNoise every year.   Today, Stéphane devotes most of his time to myNoise and takes immense pride in the fact that this website operates entirely on donations, which is a testament to the value and impact it has on the lives of its users.   Stéphane and Eric crossed paths when Eric left Roland to start Spectrasonics, just as Stéphane was joining Roland. They have maintained a relationship based on mutual esteem and assistance ever since.
